Travel to Xishuangbanna, Experience the Magic of Southeast Asia. To admire its unique scenery, colleagues from the Chengdu and Ningbo branches of Pangshi Group traveled one after another to Xishuangbanna in May, a place boasting gorgeous landscapes and exotic charms.

Located on the border of Yunnan Province, Xishuangbanna borders Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Enjoying a spring‑like climate all year round, it features green mountains and picturesque scenery. Adorned with religion‑infused pagodas and ethnic‑minority architectures, this land is blessed with rich tropical views and distinctive ethnic features. Stepping into Xishuangbanna feels like entering the ancient Kingdom of Tianzhu from the classic journey to the West. It bears none of the bleak melancholy of misty apricot blossoms and cold winters, nor the northern scenery of fierce sandstorms and snow‑capped mountains. It is a treasure trove of nature, a green kingdom and a brilliant pearl in southern China.

During the four‑day trip, Pangshi colleagues sampled authentic Dai‑style delicacies at Gaozhuang Xishuangjing and visited the spectacular Starlight Market, the largest and most eye‑catching night market in the Greater Golden Triangle area. Barbecues at the market last until 6 a.m. Even at 2 a.m., bustling crowds on the streets create an illusion of an early‑morning market at 8 o’clock.

At the Wild Elephant Valley, elephants danced in a clumsy yet lovely manner. Baby elephants were particularly playful, stretching their trunks to grab bananas from keepers’ pockets and spraying water toward tourists. In the aquarium, the stunning 7‑D movie about the Mekong River brought local customs and traditions along the river to life. The adventurous employees gathered in small groups to experience jungle canopy tours. Challenging themselves, they glided from tree to tree via zip‑lines and got up‑close to the chirps of rainforest insects and birds. Having arrived at this land of strong ethnic features, how could they miss its ethnic charm? Dressed in Dai and Thai costumes, Pangshi staff immersed themselves in the experience of being runaway princesses, princes and marquises.

Amid busy daily routines, take some time to relax. If Southeast Asia is out of reach for the moment, follow in Pangshi employees’ footsteps to Xishuangbanna at the southern tip of Yunnan and enjoy its exotic vibes. This memorable Dai‑themed journey has come to an end. We look forward to Pangshi team unlocking brand‑new scenery next time.
